IOC Terrain   Leave a comment

Today I was hiking on Mt. Meron (which is the highest mountain in Israel, excluding the Golan heights), and I took the opportunity for a panoramic photograph of the terrain for the 2009 Israeli Orienteering Championships (IOC). You can see all three forests in the picture: Ein Zeitim North (day 1), Ein Zeitim (model event), and Akbara (day 2, which I'm mapping now). The town of Zefat is in the centre, with the Golan heights faintly visible in the background and the Sea of Galilee (210m below sea level) peeking on the far right. The picture was taken from west to east.
