Yesterday I was racing again (at last), in the national event at Netiv HaLamed-Heh. Fortunately for me, my rival Omer was placing controls, because I didn't feel fully fit and I think that my running lost much of it's intensity over the second half of the course. I won H40 easily, but was well beaten by the winners in H17 and H21B on the same course.
The map was very good (Czech mapping again – Petr Matula), and the course, set by Ofek Gol, was technical and challenging. I finished the 6 km course in 54:03, losing very little time, with a few minor mistakes (2, 5, 16) and an additional minute wasted on control 11, which was placed on the wrong stone wall. Overall it was a very enjoyable day out.

We're having a really wet winter here in Israel, which is great for the country as a whole but bad for training. Luckily, nearly all the weekends have been dry, but last week was one big downpour and I had to skip two more training sessions (I'm as tough as any, but when it rains here, it rains hard, and the streets at night are very slippery). Today there's a storm outside again, but hopefully the rest of the week will be better…
