Club-O   Leave a comment

Last weekend we held a club training camp.
Galilee O-Club has been in existence for 20 years, and we've had our ups and downs. Last season was not one of the good ones (mostly my responsibility, of course, as club chairman), and in the summer we decided to re-organize a bit, prepare this season ahead of time, and implement some new ideas. This training camp was the first of them.
We trained on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, had some fun activity in the evening, and it was generally very successful. Participation was a bit lower than I had hoped – 19 competitive orienteers + some family, from a pool of 35-40 – but it's a start, and we'll do it again next year. From the feedback I've seen, even from those who didn't come, this has given our members a push in the right direction, and I'll be trying to keep us moving in that direction over the next few months.
